Self-funded

A dedicated team of volunteers, led by the Charity Manager, work hard to help bridge the gap between clinical and home environments.  We pride ourselves on providing a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where we can offer practical advice, emotional support or just a listening ear.

We are a self-funded, registered charity helping to support people affected by all cancers and other chronic illnesses, not just the person with the diagnosis but their loved ones too.  We are only too aware that any serious health condition affects the family as a whole and not just the person that has been diagnosed.  This is why we are passionate about opening our services up to family members too.

In 2025 we were honoured to receive the King’s Award for Voluntary Service, which is the charity equivalent to an MBE.

The current TWCSC premises at Craven, Stonydelph, were opened in June 2014 to provide a welcoming, friendly place for anyone needing support or information about living with, or after a diagnosis of cancer or any other chronic illness.  Living with chronic illness can feel like a very lonely time. Nobody should have to feel this and so this is the very reason our charity exists.

A dedicated team of volunteers, led by the Charity Manager, work hard to help bridge the gap between clinical and home environments.  We pride ourselves on providing a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where we can offer practical advice, emotional support or just a listening ear.  Our centre is a warm, friendly and relaxed place, where you can meet others, make new friends, take part in activities, or simply have a cup of tea and a chat.

We offer holistic therapies, craft therapies, wellbeing projects and have wig fitting/styling facilities.  We also hold specific support groups throughout the month and we always offer a warm smile and a hot drink with our very willing volunteers.

We are here to listen, understand and offer support when you need it. Whether you want someone to talk to, a friendly face to welcome you, or simply a safe and comfortable place to spend some time, our doors are always open.

Whatever you are going through, we are here for you. Come as you are, whenever you need us. There’s no need to make an appointment. Just drop in — you’ll always be welcome.
